DARYL FLOOD, INC. ASSISTS IN HURRICANE RELIEF EFFORTS

COPPELL, TEXAS (October 3, 2017) Daryl Flood, Inc. assisted communities affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma in a number of ways during the month of September. Contributions range from holding an employee donation drive, to donating truck space and transportation, and even donating labor crews to assist other companies with their donations.

Daryl Flood, Inc. employees stepped up initially by holding an internal supply drive for hurricane relief. Items specifically requested by the American Red Cross were donated to aid families in the Houston area.

Partnering with Fellowship Church and Sabre, Daryl Flood, Inc. provided transportation for donated goods, collected at their facilities, going to communities in need. Daryl Flood, Inc. also teamed up with Altair in picking up supplies from several Altair locations and delivering them to Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas to replenish the relief shelter.

Daryl Flood, Inc.’s Dallas team donated labor, packing materials and a trailer to a supply drive organized by TEGNA Media, a company which owns many local television stations across the U.S., its Dallas station – WFAA, and UniGroup, Inc. Through this effort, a full trailer of supplies was donated in one day for victims of Hurricane Harvey. This drive ran in conjunction with drives in 13 other TEGNA markets around the U.S. In total, 16 trailers of goods were donated to Salvation Army Warehouses in Houston, Texas; Tampa, Florida; and Ocala, Florida. Daryl Flood, Inc.’s Houston team donated labor to unload trailers full of donations at The Salvation Army of Greater Houston.

Daryl Flood, Inc. partnered with third-party logistics client, Twisted X Boots, in their donation of $2 million in boots and shoes to Soles4Souls, a disaster relief organization which acts as “second wave” responders, working directly with manufacturers and retailers to procure brand new shoes, clothing and other necessities to distribute to those in need. Daryl Flood, Inc. donated over 500 labor hours and shipping materials to pick, pack and ship nearly 18,000 pairs of footwear.

“This effort was of particular interest to us, as we are headquartered in Texas and had multiple warehouses affected by Hurricane Harvey,” said Jeff Talbot, Senior Vice President. “We thought this was a great gesture on Twisted X’s part and were proud to assist with this endeavor. The experience has been very humbling.”

Not forgetting about our four-legged friends that were uprooted by Harvey, Daryl Flood, Inc. assisted pawTree, an online pet supply company, by picking, packing and shipping their donation of 1,200 bags of dog food and 500 bags of cat food to Trusted World Foundation, an organization that provides resources to people or organizations who are providing services on someone else’s behalf.

“Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the communities recovering from the devastation caused by the recent hurricanes,” said C. Douglas Smith, Vice President & General Manager. “Our organization has been inspired by the recovery efforts happening in Houston and across the country. We are proud to be part of the team helping our communities in need.”
