In honor of UniGroup’s Van Operator Appreciation Week, we’d like to introduce you to the people who keep Daryl Flood moving. Although our offices are based in Texas, our drivers move families all over the country. As a Daryl Flood customer, you trust our drivers in your homes and in care of your belongings. Behind the wheel, they are truly Daryl Flood Dependable. We asked our drivers to submit answers to a series of questions, here’s what Daryl Flood Driver Chad Timbes had to say:
1.) What do you like most about being a Daryl Flood Driver?
I work with a great team of people! I love working alongside my fellow drivers and move coordinators. I love my customers! 85% of my customers are relocated by their company. They know what to expect and how the move process works. They are welcoming and friendly. My schedule is flexible as I work around my customers’ hours.
2) Do you listen to music while on the road? What’s your sound-track?
I usually listen to Sirius Radio; flipping between the Blue Collar Comedy, Classic Rock and Country stations.
3) What’s your most memorable moving experience?
You can never be too careful! We once moved a family from Georgia to Houston, Texas. Little did we know, that there was a stow-away on board! We accidentally pad-wrapped a plastic tote which housed the family’s Iguana. Luckily, the little guy arrived at destination safely. Now, we are very diligent in checking all plastic totes for air holes, just in a case a family pet lives inside.
4) What advice would you give to customers moving for the first-time?
Do not pack combustible items such as cleaning products, aerosol sprays or nail polishes in your boxes. We are not allowed to transport them in our vehicles. As part of inventory procedure, our packing crews will open and inspect each box you pack, and will dispose of these items as we find them.
Chad Timbes lives in Farmers Branch, Texas with his wife and children. He’s been working for Daryl Flood for 5 years. Before joining the fleet, Chad was employed by our Workplace Services division.
